BetterInvesting S&P Data Import Screen

Use this selection to update common stock investments using either the BetterInvesting S&P Stock Data Service or AAII’s Stock Investor Pro software.  In this feature, Portfolio Manager downloads (or imports) the necessary information and provides a table for review and import.

The following information is available for import:

  • date of SSG data
  • symbol: the security symbol.
  • name: the name or description of the asset.
  • market price: the market price of the security for the reported SSG data file date. Note: if the market prices in Portfolio Manager are more current than the prices of the SSG data file, you can uncheck the box "Import market prices to current library."
  • earnings: the annual earnings per share of the security.
  • proj. earnings: the estimated annual earnings per share of the security for the next 12 months.
  • proj. growth %: the estimated growth rate in earnings for the next five years.
  • dividends: the annual dividend rate per share of the security.
  • book value: the most recent reported annual book value per share of the security.
  • cash flow: the most recent reported annual cash flow per share of the security.
  • yield: the current annual dividend rate divided by the market price of the security.
  • beta: the beta coefficient of the security.
  • rating: defined by S&P based on consistency of earnings and dividends over the last 10 years.
  • Industry: if using BetterInvesting S&P data, the designation for sector/industry is shown. Note: you can select/deselect the option to overwrite existing sector/industry designation prior to import.
  • Size: if using BetterInvesting S&P data, the designation for size is used, based on revenues. Note: you can select/deselect the option to overwrite existing size designation prior to import.
